Enjoy the Scottish countryside
The Scottish countryside is the perfect place to get away from it all and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Built in 1734, the Kirtle Water Mansion sits in the heart of the famous Scottish Highlands. Its beautiful gardens span over eleven acres and it ’s the perfect getaway for family holidays and hosting family celebrations or a corporate retreat on a fully catered or self-catered basis.
You will feel as if you are glimpsing back in time as you stare at the estate’s Georgian character. Inside the house, the drawing room shows the Regency era with its bow windows and beautiful plasterwork in Edwardian splendour along with ceiling fans, garlands and scrollwork.
The perfect place to host parties
After seeing the house from the outside, you will pass into the black and white Italian marble entrance hall with ornate panelling, marble columns and a cosy wood burner. Then wander through the portrait gallery with its three formal rooms including the ballroom, complete with its own bar equipped with good old-fashioned Scottish whiskey. This place is ideal if you’re looking to host a family reunion or enjoy a bit party with friends and relatives.
Sleep in comfort
There are 14 bedrooms; every room is beautiful, individually designed and different. Some of the rooms even feature huge emperor sized beds! On the ground floor is a universal room which is fully accessible for wheelchair users and people with disabilities. It even includes its very own wet room. There are two estate cottages within the grounds if you require extra space. In fact, it is possible to comfortably accommodate 40 guests in total.
After a long day, you can sit back and relax in the sitting room and watch TV. Or enjoy a good book along enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. There’s even a variety of games consoles and many of the latest in games for adults and children alike to enjoy.
The ideal location
Set in rolling acres of parkland you can enjoy long country walks, go mountain biking, kayaking, golf and clay pigeon shooting. The historic town of Gretna Green is only 7 miles away and close to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Making this the perfect location to enjoy exploring Scotland.
